‘Rediscovering Threads of the 70s’, LKFF, Belgium

LKFF Art Projects

Rediscovering Threads of the 70s
September 14 to October 31, 2025

Opening vernissage on Sunday 14 September, from 3:00 to 6:00 pm

LKFF Art Projects
Hoogstraat nr 1, 1650 Beersel, Belgium

“The exhibition brings together the rarely seen early textile works of Belgian artist Claudine Péters-Ropsy with a selection of contemporary figurative sculptors of international renown. In dialogue with these rediscovered works, the exhibition presents sculptures by leading figurative artists who studied art in the 70s and/or grew up in those years. By juxtaposing very architectural textile experiments with the figurative sculptural voices of Carter, Henry, and Beaumont, “Rediscovering Threads of the 70s” explores how materials, bodies, and identities have been woven into contemporary figurative art across generations.”
